RESPONSIBILITIES

Participate in program related training to search a variety of venues and cargo to identify explosive threats with the assigned canine. Perform Handler duties at various program venues while commanding a trained explosive working dog. The hours at this location are part-time, Monday-Thursday 16 hours and Sat-4 hours week. Pay Rate is $30-40 based on experience with travel stipend and pet care allowance if provided a K9.

Handler will be responsible for maintaining training records
The handler will be responsible for care and maintenance of the assigned canine
Must maintain all job-related certifications
Must have KTN(TSA Pre-check)
Other duties as assigned
Must have KTN Number

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Cargo Screening experience
Preferred two years of documented experience handling an explosive detection dog in an operational environment required
Must be able to obtain a Known Traveler Number (KTN) within four to six weeks of employment required
Must have adequate transportation to transport assigned Canine and Crate (inside the vehicle) to/from assigned work location; transportation must have operational climate control
Must be able to pass the applicable Contract Testing and Certifications for the program within four to eight weeks of employment
Must maintain the certification requirements
Must pass background check
Must have a valid driver's license and a clear driving record for the last five years
Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion
Problem-solving skills with an analytical thought process
Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
