Business Development Manager (B2B Sales) – Private Investigations & Security

Location: Northwest Suburbs of Chicago, IL (hybrid field + office)
Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation: Base Salary + Uncapped Commission + Performance Bonuses (with residual potential on recurring accounts)

We are hiring an experienced Business Development Manager who can sell, build relationships, and generate revenue—period.

What You’ll Be Selling

A full line of professional investigative and protection services, including (but not limited to):

Corporate & internal investigations
Professional surveillance (insurance/civil/workplace)
Background checks & due diligence
Executive protection and security services
Fraud-related inquiries and fact development
Security consulting / incident response support

You will represent a proven firm with a strong track record—your job is to turn that credibility into new revenue and long-term accounts.

Core Responsibilities

Drive new business through outbound prospecting: email, phone, LinkedIn, in-person visits, networking, and referral development
Build and manage a pipeline of B2B opportunities using CRM tracking and structured follow-up
Book meetings with decision-makers (attorneys, property managers, HR leaders, risk managers, corporate security, etc.)
Attend and penetrate associations/councils: Chambers of Commerce, professional groups, networking events, trade meetings
Coordinate speaking engagements and presentations to organizations and business groups
Develop referral relationships with complementary businesses (security integrators, HR consultants, law firms, etc.)
Work with management to develop proposals, service packages, and follow-up strategies
Provide weekly performance reporting: activity metrics, pipeline updates, wins/losses, next steps
Think outside the box: create new approaches, campaigns, partnerships, and outreach angles

Required Qualifications

Proven B2B sales/business development experience (services preferred)
Strong phone presence and ability to build trust quickly
Professional writing skills (email outreach, follow-ups, basic proposals)
Solid computer proficiency: CRM tools, email systems, Microsoft Office/Google Workspace
Strong internet/software comfort: LinkedIn, research, outreach tools, scheduling, basic tech troubleshooting
Ability to manage time, follow up relentlessly, and stay organized
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally (Chicago/NW suburbs)

Preferred (Not Required, But a Strong Plus)

Experience selling professional services (legal, security, investigations, insurance, compliance, risk, HR)
Experience with CRM systems (HubSpot, Zoho, Salesforce, etc.)
Familiarity with LinkedIn outreach and B2B email deliverability best practices
Experience building referral networks and strategic partnerships
Comfort speaking to groups and representing a firm in professional settings
