The Opportunity:

Rescor is growing quickly, and we are looking for a Head of Finance who can both build and operate the financial backbone of the company. This is not a hands-off strategy role. The right person will set the long-term vision, then roll up their sleeves and execute on the day-to-day until the function is mature enough to delegate.

You will be the most senior finance leader at the company, working directly with the CEO, COO, and executive leadership team to shape the future of the business. You will also be the person making sure agent payroll runs cleanly, invoices go out on time, and the books are airtight every month. We need a builder first, a strategist second, and someone who is genuinely excited about doing both.

What You Will Own:

Strategy and Leadership:

- Lead financial strategy, planning, and forecasting across the company

- Partner with the executive team on pricing, contract structure, profitability analysis, and long-term growth planning

- Provide data-driven insights and scenario modeling to support major decisions

- Build the back office function from the ground up, including hiring future finance and accounting team members as the company scales

Financial Operations:

- Manage all day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger

- Oversee bookkeeping and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting

- Monitor and manage agent spending, expense tracking, and reimbursement processes

- Lead month-end and year-end close, including reconciliation, journal entries, and financial statement preparation

- Manage cash flow and working capital across multiple active client engagements

Systems and Controls:

- Implement and continuously improve financial systems, controls, and processes

- Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, and regulatory obligations

- Coordinate with external CPAs, tax advisors, auditors, and insurance partners

- Support IRS-132 compliance work for client engagements where applicable

Business Partnership

- Collaborate with operations on staffing models, project profitability, and client billing

- Support the proposal and contract review process from a financial structuring perspective

- Serve as a key thought partner to the CEO on capital planning, banking relationships, and long-term financial sustainability

Who You Are:

- A proven finance leader with experience running financial operations and strategy at a growing or boutique services company

- Equally comfortable building a forecast model and reconciling a bank account

- Strong technical foundation in financial statements, GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management

- Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate performance, assess risk, and translate numbers into clear business insights

- A builder mindset, with experience implementing or improving financial systems, controls, and processes from scratch

- A strong communicator who can engage credibly with executives, operations leaders, and outside advisors

- Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and the path is not always paved

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field

- Advanced degree or professional certification (CPA, CFA, CMA) strongly preferred

- 8+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role

- Prior experience in security, professional services, staffing, or related industries is a strong advantage

- Knowledge of payroll, multi-state employment regulations, and California labor compliance is a plus
