Position Overview

We are seeking a creative, organized, and customer-focused Floral Design Manager to lead our floral department and oversee daily floral operations. The ideal candidate has strong floral design experience, leadership skills, and a passion for creating exceptional arrangements and customer experiences. This role combines hands-on floral design work with team management, inventory control, merchandising, and event coordination.

The Floral Design Manager will be responsible for maintaining high design standards, managing staff performance, ensuring profitability, and growing the floral business through innovation and outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities

Design and create fresh floral arrangements for everyday sales, weddings, funerals, holidays, corporate events, and special occasions
Lead, train, schedule, and supervise floral design staff and support team members
Maintain high standards for floral quality, presentation, freshness, and cleanliness
Manage inventory, ordering, receiving, and product rotation to minimize waste and maximize profitability
Develop seasonal displays and merchandising strategies to drive sales
Consult with customers regarding floral selections, custom arrangements, and event floral needs
Coordinate floral production timelines for large events and holiday volume
Monitor department budgets, labor costs, and sales performance
Ensure excellent customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally
Maintain knowledge of floral trends, seasonal availability, and design techniques
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and sanitation procedures
Collaborate with ownership or upper management on marketing promotions and business growth initiatives

Qualifications

3+ years of professional floral design experience preferred
Previous supervisory or management experience preferred
Strong knowledge of fresh flowers, plants, floral care, plant care, and design principles
Experience with wedding, sympathy, and event floral work preferred
Excellent communication and customer service skills (a bubbly personality is a huge plus!)
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational and inventory management skills
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and peak floral seasons
Proficiency with POS systems and basic computer skills preferred
