Converge has been in business since 2007 and serves commercial clients throughout the Charlotte metro area. Our work includes structured cabling, fiber optics, access control, video surveillance, sound masking, audio-video systems, and other low-voltage technology infrastructure. Our typical clients include Class A office environments, commercial companies, and organizations ranging from small offices to companies with thousands of employees.

The person we are looking for will become a trusted right-hand leader to the owner, with the long-term goal of eventually helping run the company. For the right person, this role may include future equity, ownership-track opportunity, profit participation, or other long-term upside based on performance, trust, leadership ability, and company growth.

About the Role

This position is for someone who can operate across the business. You need to understand the work, communicate with clients, sell solutions, walk job sites, manage people, understand financials, hold technicians accountable, make decisions, and take real responsibility off the owner’s plate.

In a small business, everyone wears multiple hats. This role requires someone who is comfortable doing whatever needs to be done, whether that means meeting with a client, reviewing an estimate, walking a project, solving a field issue, improving a process, holding a technician to standards, reviewing job profitability, or making a decision in the company’s best interest without running every detail up the flagpole.

Responsibilities

Lead, manage, and improve day-to-day operations across projects, field teams, clients, and internal processes.
Help sell and explain solutions related to access control, video surveillance, sound masking, audio-video, structured cabling, data networks, and fiber optics.
Meet with clients, walk job sites, review needs, help develop scopes, and support estimates and proposals.
Work closely with technicians and project teams to ensure work is completed professionally, accurately, safely, and to company standards.
Hold field staff accountable for quality, communication, documentation, schedule, and customer experience.
Help manage project profitability, labor planning, material coordination, change orders, and closeout.
Review financial performance, job costing, margins, and company-level profitability with ownership.
Make practical business decisions that protect the company, serve the client, and support long-term growth.
Improve processes, standards, documentation, communication, and accountability across the company.
Represent Converge professionally with clients, vendors, general contractors, property managers, and internal team members.
Help the owner carry the load of running and growing the business.

What We Are Looking For

5+ years of relevant experience in low voltage, physical security, structured cabling, fiber, AV, technology contracting, or a closely related field.
Experience with access control, video surveillance, structured cabling, fiber optics, sound masking, and/or commercial AV.
Ability to sell, explain, and scope technical solutions in a professional, client-facing manner.
Experience working for a small or mid-sized contractor is strongly preferred.
Comfortable walking job sites, talking with technicians, meeting with clients, and dealing with real-world field conditions.
Strong business judgment and the ability to make decisions without needing every answer handed to you.
Experience with financials, job costing, gross margin, profitability, budgeting, or operational reporting.
Ability to lead people, hold standards, and have direct conversations when needed.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
High level of personal integrity, transparency, accountability, and trustworthiness.
Comfortable working in a small-business environment where priorities can change and everyone contributes.
Certifications or direct experience with access control platforms are a plus, but not required.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary starts around $105,000, depending on experience and fit.
Total compensation potential ranges from approximately $105,000 to $250,000 based on experience, performance, commissions, bonuses, company profitability, and long-term contribution.
Compensation structure may include base salary, commission, performance bonus, profit-based bonus, and potential long-term equity or ownership-track opportunity for the right person.

Schedule and Location
Monday through Friday, generally 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
This is a Charlotte metro-area role. Candidate must be based in, or willing to relocate to, the Charlotte, NC area.
Some jobsite visits, client meetings, and occasional schedule flexibility will be required based on project needs.
