Role Description

CIO / Chief Security Officer

909Cyber is conducting a retained executive search for a high-growth enterprise infrastructure and AI platform company seeking a senior technology and security leader to report directly to the CEO.

This organization supports mission-critical enterprise workloads for many of the world’s largest companies and operates in a highly technical, engineering-driven environment focused on real-time data, cloud infrastructure, and AI innovation.

The company is looking for a hands-on executive who can lead both security and technology transformation initiatives across the business. This role combines executive leadership, operational ownership, customer engagement, and AI-driven business transformation.

This is not a traditional security leadership role. The organization is seeking a business-minded technology executive who can help modernize operations, drive AI adoption internally, improve organizational productivity, and lead a mature enterprise security strategy.

Internal IT will report into this leader alongside security and infrastructure functions.

The Opportunity

This executive will lead initiatives across:

* Enterprise security and risk management

* Internal IT and business technology operations

* Cloud and infrastructure security

* AI adoption and AI-enabled operational transformation

* Customer trust and enterprise security engagement

* Security strategy, governance, and compliance

* Operational scalability and automation initiatives

The ideal candidate is comfortable:

* Advising the CEO and executive leadership team

* Driving company-wide AI enablement initiatives

* Partnering closely with engineering and product organizations

* Interfacing directly with Fortune 500 customers and executives

* Representing the company externally through strategic customer conversations and industry speaking opportunities

* Leading modernization and operational efficiency initiatives across the organization

Ideal Background

Candidates may come from:

* High-growth SaaS companies

* Cloud infrastructure organizations

* AI/ML platform companies

* Enterprise software organizations

* Data platform or infrastructure-focused technology companies

The strongest candidates will have experience leading AI adoption or AI transformation initiatives within their organizations, including operational automation, productivity optimization, governance, and secure AI enablement.

Technical Environment

The organization operates a modern cloud-native technology stack including:

* AWS, Azure, and GCP

* Kubernetes and containerized infrastructure

* Real-time analytics and large-scale data platforms

* Streaming and cloud-native technologies

* AI and automation initiatives across engineering and business operations

Preferred Experience

* Former CIO, CISO, CSO, VP Security, VP Infrastructure, or equivalent executive leadership experience

* Experience overseeing both security and internal IT functions

* Strong executive communication and customer-facing skills

* Deep understanding of modern cloud and infrastructure security

* Experience scaling enterprise technology and security programs

* Demonstrated success driving AI adoption and operational transformation

* Ability to influence highly technical engineering organizations

* Experience supporting enterprise and Fortune 500 customer environments

Compensation

* Base salary target: up to $325,000
