Position: VP of Sales, North America — Chip Business

Location: US Silicon Valley / West Coast (Seattle-centered); remote initially, with eventual on-site presence expected in Santa Clara, Silicon Valley

Reports to: CEO + General Manager

Mission of the Role

As the helm of our PD Photodetector Chip business in North America, you will take full ownership of the commercial success of our photodetector chips in the North American data center and cloud market. You will build and lead a high-performing team from the ground up, establish strategic partnerships with top-tier customers such as Amazon, Meta, Google, and NVIDIA, drive our company toward becoming their designated supplier, deliver on revenue targets, and shape the company's long-term strategic footprint in the North American market.

Key Responsibilities

Independently develop a clear go-to-market strategy for North America, translating the company's high-level business objectives into actionable quarterly plans

Directly develop and manage relationships with US end customers (cloud providers, data centers, AI compute companies, etc.), driving designated-supplier status with companies such as Amazon, Meta, Google, and NVIDIA

Build and lead the local sales team while collaborating closely with the FAE (Field Application Engineer) team to ensure precise alignment between customer technical requirements and product value

Lead commercial negotiations, full-cycle contract management, and disciplined regional budget control

Continuously track North American photonics/semiconductor market dynamics and trends to grow the company's market share in the US

Serve as the company's representative in North America, working closely with the CEO and General Manager to report on market progress and strategic recommendations

Qualifications

Industry Experience

10+ years of experience in optical communications or semiconductors, including at least 5 years of team management experience, with proven ability to build talent pipelines and develop teams

Demonstrated track record of successfully opening up the North American data center or major telecom equipment market, with strong familiarity with local channel ecosystems

Deep understanding of the technical principles behind optical modules and photonic chips, with the ability to precisely connect customer technical needs with product value

Core Competencies

Strategic Leadership: Ability to independently formulate and execute market-penetration strategies

Top-Tier Network: Deep, trusted relationships with senior decision-makers at leading North American cloud providers and top optical module companies; candidates with optical module sales resources/experience preferred

Business Acumen: Excellent commercial negotiation skills, contract management capabilities, and precise budget control

Education

Bachelor's degree or above in a relevant engineering field such as Optoelectronic Engineering, Electronic and Information Engineering, Communications Engineering, or Microelectronics

Preferred: MBA, EMBA, or other business management master's degree — a well-rounded candidate combining technical depth with business vision

Other Requirements

Chinese-American candidates based locally in the US are preferred (given direct reporting to the CEO and General Manager, and ongoing close collaboration with the FAE team)

Preference given to candidates based in Silicon Valley/Seattle/West Coast with optical module sales resources and experience
