Role Description the Retired L.E.O. Armed Officer role at PGS USA is a full-time, on-site position based in Washington D.C. The officer is responsible for providing armed physical security, including monitoring premises, controlling access points, and responding to security incidents and emergencies in accordance with company protocols and applicable laws. Daily tasks include maintaining situational awareness, conducting security patrols, documenting incidents, and communicating with clients and team members to ensure a safe environment. The role may involve supporting investigations, coordinating with local law enforcement when necessary, and preparing accurate, timely reports. The officer is expected to uphold professional conduct, maintain firearms proficiency, and consistently represent PGS USA’s commitment to excellence.

Qualifications

Retired in good standing from one of the following Agencies/Departments:

o Secret Service

o NCIS

o Metropolitan Police Department (MPD)

o U.S. Park Police (USPP)

o U.S. Capitol Police (USCP)

o Montgomery County (PD)

o Prince George County (PD)

Current District of Columbia Special Police Officer (SPO) license
Current authorization/qualification to work armed in the District of Columbia
Prior law-enforcement or professional security experience
Active Shooter/Active Threat training
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills
Professional appearance and demeanor
Excellent situational awareness and observational skills
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during high-stress situations
Physically fit and capable of performing the essential duties of the position
Ability to pass all required company and client screening requirements

Key Responsibilities

Provide a highly visible, professional armed security presence at the assigned national media facility.
Protect employees, executives, visitors, guests, and client property.
Monitor access control, visitor screening, employee entrances, and restricted areas.
Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, emergencies, alarms, disturbances, and threats.
Maintain a high level of situational awareness and identify potential security concerns before they escalate.
Respond to active-threat/active-shooter situations in accordance with established procedures and training.
Conduct security patrols and inspections as assigned.
Enforce client security policies, post orders, and procedures.
Maintain accurate incident reports and daily activity reports.
Communicate effectively with client management, PGS USA supervisors, fellow security officers, and law-enforcement personnel.
Coordinate with MPD and other emergency responders when necessary.
Exercise sound judgment regarding the appropriate use of force and escalation of incidents.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding client operations, personnel, security procedures, and sensitive information.
Provide professional customer service while maintaining a strong security posture.*

Candidates must maintain all required D.C. licensing, firearms qualifications, training, and certifications necessary to legally perform armed security duties in the District.
