The Enterprise Risk and Claims Manager is responsible for leading the organization's risk management and claims administration programs to protect assets, reduce operational exposure, and support business continuity. This role develops and implements enterprise-wide risk mitigation strategies, oversees claims management activities, and drives loss prevention initiatives across the organization.

Enterprise Risk Management

Develop, implement, and maintain enterprise risk management programs and processes.
Identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate operational, financial, regulatory, and third-party risks.
Develop and monitor key risk indicators (KRIs), loss metrics, and performance dashboards.
Analyze claims trends, loss runs, incident data, and emerging risks to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Partner with business leaders to strengthen risk awareness and promote a culture of proactive risk management.
Support risk assessments, audits, and organizational compliance initiatives.
Assist in the review of contracts, insurance requirements, and vendor agreements to mitigate organizational risk.
Partner with procurement and operational teams to evaluate and manage third-party risk exposure.

Claims Management & Loss Prevention

Manage all claims administration and loss control activities.
Serve as the primary liaison with third-party administrators, insurance carriers, brokers, and claims service providers.
Lead investigation, evaluation, and resolution of complex liability, property, and automobile claims.
Coordinate incident reporting, claim documentation, witness statements, and evidence preservation.
Partner with legal counsel on litigated claims, subpoenas, discovery requests, settlement negotiations, and dispute resolution.
Develop and implement claims management strategies designed to reduce claim frequency, severity, and overall cost of risk.
Monitor claim performance and ensure timely claims handling and resolution.

Safety, Compliance & Business Continuity

Maintain insurance compliance and risk management tracking systems.
Monitor compliance with insurance requirements, risk management policies, and loss control programs.
Support the development and maintenance of risk management policies, procedures, and training materials.
Lead accident prevention initiatives and loss reduction programs.
Coordinate emergency preparedness, crisis management, and business continuity planning efforts.
Oversee required regulatory and compliance reporting, including OSHA reporting and related documentation.
Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement corrective action plans following incidents and claims events.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

Foster strong partnerships with insurance brokers, carriers, attorneys, consultants, and other external service providers.
Provide risk management guidance and subject matter expertise to leadership and operational teams.
Prepare reports and presentations related to claims performance, enterprise risk exposures, and mitigation activities.
Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Risk Management preferred.
Minimum of six (6) years of progressive experience in enterprise risk management, insurance, claims management, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated expertise in claims administration, insurance coverages, loss prevention, and risk mitigation strategies.
Experience managing liability, property, casualty, and litigation-related claims.
Experience working with insurance carriers, brokers, third-party administrators (TPAs), and legal counsel.

Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) principles and frameworks.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Strong understanding of insurance programs, claims management practices, and loss control methodologies.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to influence across multiple departments and organizational levels.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
