About the Role

We are seeking an entry-level Cybersecurity Analyst to support security operations, monitoring, vulnerability management, incident investigation, and the protection of information systems and data.

This role is designed for an analytical and detail-oriented professional who is interested in building a career in cybersecurity. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in cybersecurity concepts, networking, operating systems, and security best practices and is eager to develop hands-on experience in a professional security environment.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor security alerts, events, and system activity for potential security issues.
Assist with identifying, investigating, and documenting potential security incidents.
Support vulnerability assessments and remediation tracking.
Review security logs and other security-related data to identify unusual activity.
Assist with security monitoring and incident response activities.
Support implementation and maintenance of security controls and procedures.
Help maintain security documentation, reports, and incident records.
Assist with security assessments and risk-management activities.
Research emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and security best practices.
Collaborate with IT and other teams to support secure systems and applications.
Follow established security policies, procedures, and incident-response processes.
Escalate potential security concerns appropriately and communicate findings clearly.

Required Qualifications

0–2 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, information security, IT security, networking, systems administration, or a related area, including internships, co-op experience, academic projects, or equivalent practical experience.
Foundational understanding of cybersecurity and information security principles.
Basic understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and common network protocols.
Familiarity with common security threats, vulnerabilities, and defensive security practices.
Basic understanding of operating systems, particularly Windows and/or Linux.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to investigate issues methodically and document findings clearly.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in an on-site team environment.
Willingness to learn new security tools and technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

Exposure to SIEM, security monitoring, or security operations tools.
Familiarity with vulnerability scanning or vulnerability-management concepts.
Exposure to incident response or threat detection activities.
Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, CrowdStrike, or comparable security platforms.
Basic scripting or programming experience with Python, PowerShell, or a similar language.
Familiarity with cloud security concepts.
Coursework, academic projects, labs, internships, or certifications related to cybersecurity or information security.

Compensation & Benefits

Recommended salary range: $90,000–$120,000 per year.

This is a full-time W-2 position. The final compensation offered will be determined based on qualifications, relevant experience, skills, and other lawful factors.

Work Arrangement

This is an on-site position in New York City, New York. Candidates should be prepared to work from the designated worksite on a regular basis.
